On September 9, 2019, a heated confrontation between Kieleweke and Tanga Tanga Jubilee groups at Gitui Catholic Church in Murang'a left a trail of chaos and destruction.

MP Ndindi Nyoro, a key figure in the Tanga Tanga group, has since apologized for his role in the incident, which led to his arrest.

Speaking on behalf of himself and Nominated MP Maina Kamanda, Nyoro expressed regret over the drama that unfolded at the church, saying, "The Gitui Catholic Church incident was regrettable and on behalf of Mr Maina Kamanda and his team, I apologise to the Catholic Church."

"The Gitui Catholic Church incident was regrettable and on behalf of Mr Maina Kamanda and his team, I apologise to the Catholic Church," the MP said.

He also vowed not to engage in politics within church premises, following a stern warning from Catholic Diocese of Murang'a Bishop James Maria Wainaina, who demanded an apology from politicians involved in the chaos.

"I have cancelled political invitations following the sad incident until further notice, I also demand an apology from the politicians involved," Bishop Wainaina said on Monday.
