Pastor among three arrested over alleged criminal activities in Malindi

Published on September 15, 2019, three men, including a Malindi-based pastor, were arrested in connection with alleged criminal activities in Watamu.

According to Malindi sub-county Police Commander Phillip Wambugu, the arrests were made at Timboni area after receiving tip-offs from at least six members of the public.

During the raid, police recovered a firearm, several rounds of ammunition, four smart phones, eight sim cards, and five identity cards belonging to suspected victims of crimes.

Mr. Wambugu assured the informers that their confidentiality would be protected.

Malindi Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Anthony Sunguti stated that the identities of those in custody would remain concealed until investigations were complete.

Mr. Sunguti added that the suspects would be detained and victims of previous crimes would be summoned for an identification parade.
