On September 14, 2019, Philip Murgor, the lawyer representing Sarah Wairimu, stated that his client was deeply saddened by the news of her husband's death.

Wairimu's husband, Tob Cohen, had gone missing for over 50 days before his body was found in a water tank at their home in Nairobi, Kenya.

Wairimu has denied any involvement in her husband's murder, stating that she was not aware of any plot to kill him.

"I spoke to Sarah just a few minutes ago, and she is deeply saddened by the news of Cohen's death... Her husband has left the world," Murgor told journalists on September 14, 2019.

Wairimu has maintained her innocence throughout the investigation, despite allegations of her involvement in her husband's murder.
