Evans Kidero, the former Nairobi County governor, has been living a reclusive life since corruption charges were filed against him in 2018. The once-respected leader has lost the admiration of his peers and the public.

During his tenure as governor, Kidero was widely accepted by both the ruling and opposition parties. He was one of the few governors who enjoyed a good reputation and was often accompanied by a large crowd when he appeared in court.

However, things took a turn for the worse after he left office and corruption charges were filed against him. His social circle began to shrink, and he was no longer the center of attention.

According to a friend, who spoke to Nation in a 2018 interview, Kidero's friends would often avoid him after his arrest at Muthaiga golf club on August 8th, 2018. The friend stated, 'If you sit here with us for an hour or so and see him come in, you will see some of his friends run away or make themselves busy just to avoid him.'

Since his arrest, Kidero has been seen alone at golf courts, and his last appearance in court was accompanied only by his lawyer.
