Bandari FC are on the verge of qualifying for the CAF Confederations Cup group stages after a 2-0 win over Tunisian side US Ben Guerdane in the first leg match at Kasarani Stadium.

Goals from Yema Mwana and Abdalla Hassan in the second half sealed the win for the Dockers, who dominated the first half but failed to capitalize on their chances.

Coach Bernard Mwalala expressed caution, stating that the team cannot celebrate yet and will focus on defending the two goals in the return match on September 29.

"We cannot celebrate yet. This is half time. We will go there and try and defend the two goals and fight to score once to be sure of going to the next stage. Today, the boys gave their all and were impressive in every way," he said.

Elsewhere in the Kenyan Premier League, Sony Sugar secured their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Nzoia Sugar, while Western Stima and Wazito played out a 0-0 draw, and Sofapaka held Ulinzi Stars to a 0-0 stalemate.
