On September 12, 2019, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) marked a significant milestone by launching a brand new Kiswahili website and social media platforms.

The launch is aimed at reaching tens of millions of Kiswahili speakers around the world, providing them with environmental news, key data, and inspiring stories of people working to improve our environment.

The website will explore important topics around the climate crisis, biodiversity, nature-based solutions, pollution, and much more.

The launch comes just days ahead of the UN Climate Action Summit, scheduled to take place in New York on September 23, 2019.
