DP William Ruto's Coastal Tour: Focusing on Development, Not Politics

Published on September 14, 2019, Deputy President William Ruto is on a five-day tour of the coastal region, focusing on development projects rather than politics.

On the third day of his tour, Ruto visited the Lunga Lunga border, where he inspected the progress of the last mile connectivity project and commissioned the Pemba dam in Kwale County.

He then proceeded to Mariakani for a Harambee for women groups, emphasizing the importance of empowering citizens.

By late afternoon, Ruto and his entourage were in Changamwe constituency, where he launched a sewer line system to benefit 6,000 households.

Speaking to the press, Ruto maintained that the country does not need divisive or tribal politics but uniting initiatives for Kenyans to foster nation building.

He also encouraged the youth to enroll in technical training colleges and learn necessary skills to support the country's development agenda.

Ruto's tour is expected to continue in Taita Taveta County, with a church service in Shimba hills, Kwale County, on Sunday.
