Published on September 14, 2019, a viral video showcased a daring first date idea, where a man invited his Tinder match to fly across the country to swim with sharks in Hawaii.

Using Tinder Passport, Matt Dajer, a member of the YouTube group Yes Theory, swiped through profiles and asked women from landlocked states to join him on the 'world's most daring first date.'

He matched with Lacey, who agreed to fly out to meet him in Oahu, Hawaii. They met up with Ocean Ramsey, a marine biologist who has spent years studying sharks and working towards their conservation.

"[Sharks] are beautiful, they're mesmerizing," says Ramsey. "They are apex predators, but they're not monsters."

As they swam with the sharks, Ramsey explained that not everything is as it seems, even in the depths of the sea or on Tinder.
