Kidum Barred by Rwanda Authorities from Performing in Kigali

Renowned Burundian musician Jean Pierre Nimbona, popularly known as Kidum, has been barred by Rwanda authorities from performing at the Kigali Jazz Fusion festival in Rwanda.

According to sources, Kidum was informed by the organizers of the festival that the decision to bar him from performing was made by the authorities in Kigali.

Published on September 14, 2019, at 4:56 PM EAT, the news has left fans of the musician shocked and disappointed.

Kidum has been a regular performer in Rwanda for over 16 years and has never had any issues with the authorities.

However, in a statement on his Instagram page, Kidum expressed his disappointment and asked his fans for forgiveness, stating that he did not know if the decision was made by the authorities in Kigali or if it was a personal decision.

He also thanked his promoters for remembering him and wishing him well.

His fans responded with shock and disappointment, with many expressing their sadness at being unable to see him perform.
