The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPA) has reviewed fuel prices, resulting in an increase in the cost of petrol and diesel, while kerosene prices have decreased.
According to the EPA's Director General, Robert Oimeke, the price of super petrol has increased by Sh0.28 per litre, while diesel prices have risen by Sh2.44 per litre. In contrast, kerosene prices have decreased by Sh3.31 per litre.
The new prices are as follows: in Nairobi, a litre of super petrol will retail at Sh112.81, diesel at Sh103.04, and kerosene at Sh100.64. In Mombasa, the prices will be Sh113.30 for super petrol, Sh103.74 for diesel, and Sh101.35 for kerosene. In Nakuru, the prices will be Sh109.89 for super petrol, Sh97.97 for diesel, and Sh101.32 for kerosene.

The changes are attributed to a decrease in the average landed cost of imported super petrol, which decreased by 0.22 per cent from US$498.46 per cubic metre in July 2019 to US$497.36 per cubic metre in August 2019.
The new prices will take effect from September 15, 2019.
