On November 7, 1997, 40-year-old William Moldt disappeared from Palm Beach County, Florida, leaving his family in confusion and distress for 22 years.
According to reports, Moldt had called his girlfriend from a bar, informing her that he would be home soon, but he was never seen again.
However, on August 28, 2019, a former resident of Wellington made an astonishing discovery while browsing Google Earth.
He noticed something in the water and contacted one of his former neighbors, who then activated his personal drone to confirm the sighting.
Deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office were called, and upon arrival, they confirmed that a vehicle was submerged in the pond.
After removing the vehicle from the pond, skeleton remains were discovered inside.
Forensic tests later identified the remains as those of William Moldt on September 10, 2019.
However, investigators said it would be difficult to determine what led to his death.
The family has yet to issue a statement.
