Published on September 14, 2019, a water project worth Sh152.3 million in Tigania West has failed to deliver, leaving hundreds of households without access to water.

The Kiingirwa Irrigation Water Project was initiated by community members from Athwana in the 1990s before the government decided to fund it in 2016.

Despite the government pumping in Sh152.3 million, no single household has received a drop of water from the project.

A spot check revealed that the project was not even 30 per cent complete, raising questions about the effectiveness of the project.

The project aimed to boost food production through irrigation in arid parts of the three locations in Akithi Division.

CS Eugene Wamalwa had officiated its launch, but the project's failure to deliver has left many wondering about its future.
