The Kenyan government has released the 2020 education calendar, outlining the start and end dates for the first, second, and third terms.
According to the calendar, released by Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang on September 14, 2019, pre-primary and secondary schools will open on January 6, 2020, for the first term.
Colleges will open a day later, on January 7, 2020. The first term for all primary and secondary schools will run for 14 weeks and will close on April 10, 2020.
The second term is scheduled to begin on May 4 and end on August 7, 2020. Half-term breaks have been scheduled for February 17-21 and June 16-19 for the first and second terms, respectively.
The third term will begin on August 31 and run until October 30 for both primary and secondary schools.
The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examinations will take place between November 2-5, 2020, while the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations will take place between November 6-30, 2020.
