As I reflect on my childhood, one television character stands out in my mind - Kermit the Frog from The Muppet Show and Sesame Street. His gentle nature and the soothing voice of Jim Henson, the creator of the Muppets, made him a beloved character.

However, it was Kermit's performance of 'Bein' Green' in The Muppet Movie that left a lasting impression on me. The song, written by Joe Raposo, became a source of comfort during my teenage years.

The lyrics of 'Bein' Green' resonated deeply with me, particularly the part where Kermit, a green frog, struggles to accept his appearance. But as the song progresses, he comes to terms with being green and finds beauty in it.

"But if green is all there is to be / It may make you wonder why, why wonder why / Wonder, I am green and that'll do fine, it's beautiful / And it's what I want to be"

Listening to this song repeatedly helped me accept and love myself for who I am, flaws and all. It was a crucial part of my journey towards self-love and self-acceptance.
