Kenya's beauty pageant scene is abuzz with excitement as Susan Kirui, crowned Miss Earth Kenya 2018, prepares to represent the country in the Miss Earth competition in Manila, Philippines later this month.
According to an exclusive interview with Mpasho.co.ke, Susan's journey to the competition has not been without its challenges. When she first started, she lost friends she had expected to support her throughout the process.
Despite the setbacks, Susan remains focused on her goal. In her own words, "I have been trolled and even been told I could not make it. Like I remember even my buddies did not show up for the crowning,.All that matters is who you are and what you want to achieve."
Before embarking on her journey to the Philippines, Susan will hold a send-off fashion show on Saturday, with the theme being African Casual. The event will raise funds to cover her travel expenses.
