Monaja, a Kenyan underground rapper, has been making waves with his thought-provoking lyrics and unique style, which blends rap and singing.

His weekly freestyle rap session, 'The Free Friday Flow', was a commentary on social issues, delivered in rhyme and hip-hop cadence. The session was a huge success, with his music being shared widely online.

Monaja's music is a reflection of his passion for social justice and his desire to promote positive change in society. He draws inspiration from conscious artists like K-Shaka and Nas, who have been instrumental in shaping the underground music scene in Kenya.

Monaja's music is a fusion of rap and singing, which he refers to as 'TemaImba'. He believes that this sub-genre of hip-hop allows him to express himself in a unique way, while also promoting social justice and empowerment.

Monaja has performed at various events, including the 29th anniversary of Saba Saba in Limuru and the International Prisoners Justice Day at the GK Thika Women's prison. He has also collaborated with other artists, such as Dambwe la Hip Hop and EMC.

Despite not being widely recognized by mainstream media, Monaja remains committed to promoting social justice through his music. He believes that his music will eventually reach a wider audience and inspire positive change in society.
