On September 13, 2019, the body of Tob Cohen, a missing Kenyan-based Dutch tycoon, was discovered in an underground water tank at his home in Kitusuru, Kenya.

According to Director of Criminal Investigation George Kinoti, the body was wrapped in many layers of clothing and showed signs of physical torture prior to death.

"It is a gruesome murder, they took their time to kill innocent Cohen. He was bound; legs, hands and neck before he was murdered and then they hid him in an underground water tank. They took their time," Kinoti said.

The water storage tank had been completely sealed with concrete and covered with bushy wood cuttings.

Cohen's friend, Patrick, who played golf with him two days before he went missing, said Cohen was concerned about his life and had complained to authorities about his wife, Sarah Wairimu Kamotho.

"I had spoken to him that night he went missing, we used to talk regularly. He was very concerned about his life. He never hid the fact that if anything happens to him Sarah would be responsible. He had complained to the authorities about this issue," Patrick said.

Two suspects, including Cohen's widow, are in police custody and face murder charges.
