On September 13, 2019, detectives recovered the body of Tob Cohen, a Kenyan-based Dutch billionaire who had been missing for nearly two months.

According to Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti, Cohen's body was found dumped inside a septic tank at his home in Kitisuru, Nairobi on Friday.

Just a day before, on September 12, 2019, the prosecution pressed murder charges against Cohen's Kenyan estranged wife Sarah Wairimu, but the court directed that she undergo a mental health test before taking plea.

Ms. Wairimu is alleged to have killed the billionaire businessman on the night of July 19th and 20th, 2019, within Nairobi County, jointly with others not before the court, according to the charge sheet.

Ms. Wairimu, who is the prime suspect, was arrested on August 28th, 2019, and interrogated at the DCI headquarters.

She was arraigned in court and detained for 12 days to allow the conclusion of investigations into Cohen's disappearance.

Cohen, a tour and travel tycoon who has lived in Kenya since 1987, went missing between July 19th and July 20th, 2019.

Before his disappearance, Cohen and Ms. Wairimu were embroiled in a bitter divorce case involving a multi-million-shilling property.

On July 12th, 2019, the Dutch tycoon filed an assault case against his estranged wife, where he cited continuous harassment and denial of his conjugal rights.
