On September 13, 2019, the body of billionaire Tob Cohen was found in a water tank at his home in Kitisuru, Nairobi.
According to Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti, the murder was a premeditated act, with Cohen being handcuffed and his body dumped in the tank.
Kinoti described the perpetrators as 'beasts' who had no regard for human life, saying, 'Cohen was handcuffed and his body was dumped in the water tank. He was murdered in cold blood! They took their time to commit this heinous crime. It's not a matter of money or a domestic dispute that led to this. They are beasts, and I will not say more.'
Kinoti also revealed that the perpetrators had a motive for the murder, but he refused to disclose it, saying that the full details would be revealed once the investigation is complete.
Two suspects are currently being held in custody, while others are being questioned by detectives.
Cohen's wife, Sarah Wairimu Kamotho, is the main suspect in the murder, and she is awaiting a mental evaluation before the trial begins.
