On September 13, 2019, the body of Dutch businessman Tob Cohen was retrieved from an underground water tank in an operation led by DCI George Kinoti, more than a month after he was reported missing.
According to Kinoti, Cohen's murder was gruesome, with the victim bound and his hands tied behind his neck before being killed.
After finishing the killing, the perpetrators hid Cohen's body in the underground water tank, which had been sealed with concrete and disguised with bushy wood cuttings.
His sister, Gabrielle Van Straten, who first reported Cohen missing, described the state of his body as 'terrible' and 'disgusting.'
Kinoti revealed that the murder was committed by 'several people' but declined to provide further details, stating that more information would be revealed soon.
Two suspects have been identified, including Cohen's estranged wife, Sarah Wairimu Kamotho, who was charged with murder on Thursday.
DCI Kinoti assured that anyone involved in the gruesome murder would not be spared, and the agency would continue to investigate and arrest more suspects.
