On September 13, 2019, detectives found the body of missing Dutch millionaire Tob Cohen inside an underground water tank in his Kitisuru residence, according to DCI George Kinoti.

Cohen, a former CEO of Philips East Africa, had been missing since July 2019. His estranged wife, Sarah Wairimu Kamotho, had reported him missing, stating that he was last seen on July 20, 2019, when he left their Kitisuru home in Nairobi.

In a letter to the Dutch Embassy, Wairimu had complained about Cohen's depression and mental condition, stating that he had become impossible to live with due to his abusive and vindictive nature.

The couple had been involved in a divorce case over a multi-million-shilling property and an assault case filed by Cohen against Wairimu.

A Nairobi court had ordered a mental health evaluation for Wairimu to determine her competence to stand trial in the murder case of her husband.
