On September 12, 2019, exiled lawyer and politician Miguna Miguna took to Twitter to voice his disgust with Rangwe MP Lilian Gogo's proposal to ban farting on planes.

Gogo had suggested the enactment of a law to deal with passengers who fart aboard planes, arguing that it could cause 'insecurity and lack of comfort on board flights.'

However, Miguna was quick to respond, calling Gogo's proposal 'awkward' and questioning her cultural background.

'I knew that something was wrong with this woman when I saw her eating ugali and fish with a fork, twice. In Luo culture, it is an abomination for a grown up to do that,' Miguna wrote.

He further criticized Gogo's proposal, saying, 'This is how low the con-man's sycophants have reduced themselves to.'
