On September 13, 2019, the world of shaving underwent a significant transformation with the launch of Millionhairs Barbershop in the heart of Utawala. This revolutionary barbershop has taken the town by storm, not only with its striking design but also with its exceptional service.
The brainchild of Collins Orupto, Millionhairs boasts an entrance designed from a truck head, complete with headlights, side mirrors, and doors wide open. The interior is equally impressive, featuring a gorgeously designed ceiling made of pricey gypsum in different shades of color that glow during the day and night.
At Millionhairs, clients can relax in costly leather seats facing large designer mirrors while enjoying a free aftershave massage. The barbershop also offers a selection of premium drinks, including Jameson, Hennessy, Jack Daniels, and Amarula, for those who wish to sip. Teetotalers, on the other hand, can enjoy a free cup of tea, coffee, or a glass of juice.
Orupto's mission is to communicate that a client's head treatment is equally important to him. The unique design cost him an estimated Sh4 million. Despite initial slow business, Millionhairs has seen consistent clients flocking in since the second month, with the highest numbers recorded on weekends.
Today, the entrepreneur employs 11 professional barbers offering a range of services, including manicures and pedicures. A full shave at Millionhairs costs Sh400 for men, which Orupto believes is pocket-friendly, considering the quality of services offered. Women part with an extra Sh100 for a shave.
According to Emanuel, the Chief barber at Millionhairs, the drinks served are an after-sale service meant to make clients feel at home.
