Published on September 13, 2019, British singer Adele has officially filed for divorce from her husband Simon Konecki, the father of her 6-year-old son Angelo, after eight years of marriage.
The 31-year-old singer filed court documents in Los Angeles on September 12, confirming the separation from Konecki, a charity executive.
The couple had secretly married in 2011 and welcomed their son Angelo in 2012. Adele only confirmed their union in 2017 during a concert.
According to E News, the couple had grown apart due to a shift in lifestyles prompted by Adele's busy schedule as she rose in fame.
Adele acknowledged the separation publicly for the first time in May 2019, by posting a meme to her followers.
Representatives for the singer stated that Adele and Konecki are committed to raising their son together lovingly and ask for privacy.
