On September 13, 2019, Jacque Maribe, a former Citizen TV anchor, was granted 1 million shillings cash bail after being in remand since September of that year.
Maribe and her fiancé Jowie were arrested in connection with the murder of Monica Kimani. While Maribe was granted bail, Jowie was denied bail and will remain in custody for the entire trial period.
