Kenyan youth have a new reason to be optimistic about their future, thanks to Betika's grassroots investment in their talents. In August, the company launched its 100 Million Jackpot, one of the biggest in the country, with a lower entry barrier of Sh49.
With most betting firms requiring at least Sh100 to place a single jackpot bet, Betika's move was a welcome relief to its customers. The company has also been investing in local sports to promote local talent, sponsoring and holding local football tournaments across the country.
One such tournament was the Inter-Estates tournament in Nakuru, which was held over three weekends and involved 20 teams. Betika kitted the teams and provided prize money, further cementing its commitment to nurturing talent among Kenyan youth.
During these events, Betika has been interacting with many youths, some of whom have diverse talents unrelated to sports. For instance, in the build-up to the Score Kenya tournament in Kibera, the company met Kevin Agure, a local comedian who had created a Betika dummy cheque. Betika extended a goodwill gesture and gave him a cheque of Sh 50,000, asking him to use it to positively change his life.
Kevin has since started a small business and is able to cater for his daily needs. Betika's gesture is a testament to the company's commitment to giving back to the community and helping young people achieve their dreams.
