On September 13, 2019, a Nairobi resident, Nahashon Maingi, won Sh222,374.83 courtesy of Odibets after placing a bet of Sh926.56 on 24 games.
Maingi, a resident of Kayole, joined Odibets in mid-August, after the government crackdown on betting firms.
"I wanted to try my luck after all the furore over betting. Today I can say is the best moments of my life. I studied the games, and placed a huge bet which has paid off as you can see," Maingi said.
Maingi credited a friend for introducing him to Odibets, praising the website's ease of use.
"Had he placed 24 soccer bets with 1.5 odds and above, Nahashon could have received 100% multibet boost for his efforts. It would have easily translated to Sh444,749.66," said Daniel Macharia, the Odibets head of bookmaking.
