Michael Olunga Wins Player of the Month in Japan ¶
Kenyan international Michael Olunga has been named the Player of the Month in Japan's Division Two League for August.
Published on September 12, 2019, Olunga's impressive form with Kashiwa Reysol in Japan earned him the prestigious individual award.
He recently captained Harambee Stars to a 1-1 draw against Uganda during a friendly clash on September 9, 2019.
"I am happy to be elected August player of the month. I would like to thank God Almighty for His blessings. Without you it would not be possible," Olunga posted on social media.
"My teammates, my supporters and everyone who believes in me, I am truly thankful. All I can do is to continue working hard and pray for better tidings in the future," he added.
As of September 7, 2019, Olunga had notched 14 goals for Kashiwa Reysol in the Japanese Division Two League.
