On Thursday, a devastating wall collapse occurred in Nairobi's Industrial Area, resulting in the loss of three lives and leaving eleven others seriously injured.
The incident happened near Likoni Roundabout at around 1pm, with a team of rescuers from St John Ambulance responding promptly to the scene.
According to Fred Majiwa, Communications Manager for St John Ambulance, two of the deceased died instantly, while another man was pronounced dead upon arrival at Coptic Hospital.
The injured were evacuated to various hospitals, including Coptic and Kenyatta National Hospital, with rescue operations continuing to search for a child feared trapped under the rubble.
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the collapse, with officials from St John Ambulance suspecting poor workmanship as a possible contributing factor.
