Real Madrid's Luka Modric has been diagnosed with a groin injury, less than a week before the team faces Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday.

According to the club's medical service, Modric has suffered a muscle injury in the adductor of his right leg.

Modric, 34, is a doubt for Saturday's La Liga fixture against Levante and could miss the Champions League match.

This adds to coach Zinedine Zidane's injury concerns, which already include Eden Hazard, James Rodriguez, and Isco.

However, playmaker Hazard and Colombia's Rodriguez returned to training with the squad on Tuesday, suggesting they could be available for Real's opening group stage tie at the Parc de Princes.
