On September 14th and 21st, the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) will conduct mock trading sessions and disaster recovery assessments to prepare for the launch of its upgraded Automated Trading System (ATS).

The NSE acquired the new ATS worth KSh110 million from MillenniumIT in August, replacing a system that has been in use for over two decades. The old system had been plagued by frequent hitches, prompting the decision to upgrade.

The new ATS is expected to increase trading at the Nairobi bourse and attract more investors to the exchange. It will also enable same-day settlements and allow traders to conduct securities transactions on their mobile phones.
