On Wednesday, six months after the devastating Ethiopian Airlines crash, families of the victims held a poignant vigil outside the Department of Transportation offices in Washington DC.
Among those who attended the vigil was Paul Njoroge, a Kenyan-Canadian who lost his wife, three children, and mother-in-law in the crash. He was joined by other relatives, including Michael Stumo, who lost his daughter.
”While all your lives move on for the last six months, the lives of the families of the victims, my life has not moved an inch,” Njoroge told reporters, his words a poignant reminder of the ongoing pain and grief.
Earlier, the families had met with Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, who assured them that the Boeing 737 Max aircraft models would remain grounded until all safety issues are addressed.
