Published on September 12, 2019, a city preacher in Kenya has made a bold claim about the root cause of the ongoing political turmoil in the Mt Kenya region.

Bishop Godfrey Migwi, the leader of the House of Hope church, has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of arm-twisting Mt Kenya MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto to abandon their support for the DP and his 2022 political ambitions.

According to Migwi, President Kenyatta's actions have led to the current political tension in the region, with the bishop stating, "I will repeat without apology that President Uhuru Kenyatta is the cause of the political turmoil in central Kenya."

The bishop also faulted the Head of State over the treatment of Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, recalling an instance when President Uhuru declined to help the lawmaker in a development project in his constituency.

"Hon. Ndindi asked Uhuru politely to help build a class or donate a bus to a certain school, Uhuru responded arrogantly that Ndindi should use CDF," said the outspoken cleric.

Furthermore, Migwi claimed that Uhuru sent nominated MP Maina Kamanda to a church harambee in Kiharu with a Ksh1 million donation, demonstrating what the bishop sees as double standards.

"They staged a church Harambee in Kiharu and Uhuru sent 1M with Kamanda and a troop of other MPs who have been undermining DP Ruto and Ndindi in central Kenya," Pastor Migwi said.
