DCI Hunts Suspected Serial Criminal Impersonating Detective

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) sleuths are in hot pursuit of Jane Wawira Mugo, a woman believed to be a serial criminal who has been masquerading as a detective and private investigator.

According to a statement issued by the DCI on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, Wawira has been involved in a plethora of criminal activities, including detaining a man for hours after forcing him to pay her KSh 440,000.

Wawira, who claims to be a Private Investigator and CEO of Trimo Security Limited, has been charged with various offences, including robbery with violence, threatening to kill, and impersonating a police officer.

She was accused of detaining a man for hours after forcing him to pay her KSh 440,000 in 2015, and was also accused of impersonating a police officer and searching the house of the victim's lawyer in the same year.

Additionally, Wawira was accused of abducting a Nairobi businessman and locking him in her office at Baba Dogo, forcing him to pay a debt of KSh 400,000.

Her employees, Isaac Ndirangu, Noreen Malala, and Michael Gitau, were also accused of robbing a man KSh 90,000 in 2016, after introducing themselves as police officers.

Wawira is also accused of drawing a pistol and threatening to kill a man at New Muthaiga Estate in 2019, on allegations that he was spying on a relative of the director in a company where she was a private investigator.

A warrant of arrest has been issued by Milimani Law Courts against Wawira, and with express orders to arrest the suspect on sight.
