Former Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe died on September 6, 2019, at the age of 95, while undergoing medical care at a hospital in Singapore.

A delegation of Zimbabwe government officials and Mugabe's family arrived in Singapore on September 10, 2019, to attend a private Catholic mass for the deceased at the Singapore Casket funeral parlor, which was presided by a Zimbabwean priest.

On September 11, 2019, Mugabe's body was airlifted from Singapore, escorted by police motorbikes, and a white Mercedes hearse carrying his remains from the funeral parlor.

According to Adam Molai, Mugabe's nephew, a flight carrying his body and the visiting delegation left for Harare a few minutes later.

The body is expected to arrive at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare on September 11, 2019, at 3 pm, where it will be received by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

On September 12 and 13, 2019, Mugabe's body will lie in state at the 35,000-seater Rufaro Stadium in Harare, allowing Zimbabweans to pay their respects, as reported by Al Jazeera.

The official funeral service will be held on September 14, 2019, at the 60,000-seat National Sports Stadium in Harare, with foreign dignitaries expected to attend.

However, the location of Mugabe's burial remains unclear, with reports suggesting that the government plans to bury him at the National Heroes Acre, a hilltop shrine reserved exclusively for Zimbabwe's ruling elite, but Mugabe's family is resisting.
