On September 11, 2019, six police officers were charged with robbery with violence and malicious damage to property in a Nairobi court.

The officers, Chris Machogi, Duncan Luvuga, and Boniface Mutua, alongside three other suspects, Vincent Owuor, Alex Mutuku, and Francis Muriuki, denied the offenses.

According to the court, the six suspects robbed G4S staff of Sh74,483,000 and other items, totaling Sh75,947,350.

The items stolen included 38 cassettes, 13 purge bins, and 13 canvas bags worth Sh1,267,000, which were later destroyed in Thogoto Forest in Kiambu County.

The court heard that the suspects threatened to use violence on the G4S employees during the robbery at Standard Chartered's Nairobi West branch.

The magistrate, Francis Andayi, released the suspects on Sh1 million bond with two sureties each and ordered them to make their torture reports with the Independent Policing and Oversight Authority.
