Manchester City great Vincent Kompany was set to celebrate his testimonial at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening, but a hamstring injury has ruled him out of action.
A host of City and Premier League legends, including Mario Balotelli, Thierry Henry, Ryan Giggs, Cesc Fabregas, and Robin van Persie, were scheduled to turn out for Kompany's testimonial.
However, Kompany himself will not be able to participate, citing a 'slight hamstring injury' that he couldn't risk playing with.
"Unfortunately I won't be starting tonight or playing. It's typical of me, right? I'm usually just there for the end of the season," Kompany said in a statement.
