Former President Robert Mugabe's remains arrived in Zimbabwe on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, after being flown out of Singapore earlier that morning.

According to his nephew, Adam Molai, a plane carrying Mugabe's body and a visiting delegation departed Singapore shortly after the body was escorted out of Singapore Casket, a funeral parlour.

“It just left now,” Molai said by phone from the plane as it took off.

The official funeral is scheduled for Saturday, with his burial expected to take place on Sunday, September 15, 2019, as announced by Press Secretary George Charamba in the Office of the President of Zimbabwe.
