Former US President Barack Obama to Visit Kenya with Global Celebrity Entourage

Former US President Barack Obama is set to visit Kenya on July 16, 2018, in the company of a high-profile delegation of 350 celebrities and notables.

Among the notable guests accompanying Obama will be media icon Oprah Winfrey, who will join the former US President and his family for a tightly scheduled one-day visit.

The delegation will include professionals, celebrities, philanthropists, clergy, activists, top lawyers, businessmen, diplomats, and friends of Obama.

Upon arrival in Kenya, Obama and his entourage will pay a courtesy call on President Uhuru Kenyatta and meet with Opposition leader Raila Odinga before heading to K'Ogelo, Siaya county, where they will attend the launch of Sauti Kuu, an NGO founded by Obama's half-sister Dr Auma Obama.

Other notable guests in the delegation include US-based Senegalese musician Akon, Zimbabwe's music maestro Oliver Mutukudzi, who will be traveling with his daughter Samona, and billionaire Nigerian businessman Aliko Dangote.

Renowned global business leaders, including Axel Bachmann, the general manager for sustainability at Coca Cola, and Markus Baumann, the group company secretary of the Union Bank of Switzerland, will also be part of the delegation.

Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga will host Obama and his guests, where musician Suzanna Owiyo will perform.
