On September 10, 2019, Peru secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Brazil in a friendly match at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, bringing an end to Brazil's 17-game winning streak.

The winning goal was scored by Luis Abram, an Argentina-based defender, who rose to meet Yoshimar Yotun's free-kick to glance in the winner.

Brazil, who were missing several key players including Dani Alves and Thiago Silva, struggled to find their usual attacking rhythm and were unable to break the deadlock despite the introduction of Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar after 63 minutes.

The defeat was a disappointment for the 32,287 crowd in attendance, who had been expecting a more competitive match after Brazil's recent success.
