McDonald Mariga's bid to contest in the Kibra by-election has hit a snag after IEBC Returning Officer Beatrice Muli denied him the chance to vie for the parliamentary seat, citing that his name does not appear in the voter register.
Mariga, who was cleared for the by-election at the IEBC offices yesterday, was given seven days to appeal the decision.
His bid to contest in the November elections has been met with controversy, with some questioning his eligibility to vie for the seat.
Mariga's bid to contest in the Kibra by-election has been supported by none other than Ken Okoth's baby mama, Anne Thumbi, who was seen seated next to him at the IEBC offices.
Thumbi, who has a child with the late Kibra MP, has been at the center of controversy in the past, including a public spat with Okoth's family over the recognition of her son as the late MP's child.
