Published on September 11, 2019, Narok County Governor Samuel Ole Tunai welcomed a delegation of Chinese investors to explore business opportunities in the region.

According to Governor Tunai, the number of Chinese tourists to Kenya has been on the rise in recent years, with about 82,000 visitors last year, a 37.7 per cent increase compared to the previous year.

However, the county is targeting to attract around one million Chinese tourists each year, and the opening up of strong ties and bilateral strength will definitely increase these numbers, Governor Tunai said.

The Chinese delegation is being led by Deputy Director-General of the Department of Commerce, Shandong Province Lyu Wei.

Narok is home to the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve, a major tourist attraction.

Despite a slight decline in tourist arrivals to Kenya in the first half of this year, Narok County remains optimistic about its potential for growth and development.
