On September 11, 2019, a tragic incident occurred in Lugari sub-county, where a 14-year-old student of Han Dow Secondary School was brutally beaten to death by a group of teenagers.
The victim was allegedly hit on the head with a stone by a Standard Seven pupil of St Louis Saisi Primary School during a fight over a girl, which also involved his friend.
Despite being taken to Lumakanda Hospital for treatment, the victim succumbed to his injuries and died.
Lugari sub-county Police Commander Bernard Muli confirmed the incident and stated that two boys had been arrested and would face murder charges in court once investigations were complete.
Mr. Muli appealed to area residents to report relationship differences to the police for immediate action rather than resorting to fights, emphasizing that the incident could have been prevented if the matter was reported early.
