On September 10, 2019, Zimbabwe qualified for the second round of 2022 World Cup qualifying after a dramatic 3-1 win over Somalia in Harare.
The victory came despite Somalia taking a 1-0 lead into the first round second leg, and equalizing in Harare with seven minutes remaining to take a 2-1 aggregate advantage.
However, Zimbabwe's star forward Khama Billiat, who plays for South African club Kaizer Chiefs, rifled a shot over the goalkeeper two minutes into stoppage time to seal the win and send Zimbabwe through to the next round 3-2 on aggregate.
Billiat's goal was set up by Marshall Munetsi, who put Zimbabwe ahead on 77 minutes with a spectacular overhead kick when the Somalis failed to clear a corner.
The win was a massive relief for new Zimbabwe coach Joey Antipas, who inherited a team that fared poorly at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
