On September 10, 2019, KCB RFC head coach Dennis Mwanja reflected on the team's success in the National Sevens Circuit, attributing it to their confidence, consciousness, and focus on each match.
The team's winning strategy was evident in their performance at the Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa, where they came from behind to beat Impala Saracens 26-21 and collect 22 points, ultimately ending the season with 116 points, 18 points ahead of second-place Mwamba RFC.
According to Mwanja, the team's confidence was a key factor in their success, as they had set a goal to win the circuit and worked towards it throughout the season.
"We came in the circuit knowing that we're not comfortable having 10 points like we did last year, which never turned out well for us, so this year we came with a very silent confidence," Mwanja said.
The team's focus on each match was also crucial, as they reassessed their goals and worked towards their objective of winning the circuit.
"We took each game at a time and reassessed our goals because we had said from the beginning we wanted to win the circuit, so we had to work towards our goal," Mwanja added.
