Citizen TV reporter Victor Kinuthia's live report on September 9, 2019, was marred by a series of mistakes, prompting a backlash from online users.
Published on September 10, 2019, at 5:26 PM, the report was meant to cover the arrest of MP Ndindi Nyoro, but Kinuthia's struggles to deliver the news left many viewers frustrated.
"I've been doing this for 21 years, and I want to tell you it's not easy. Victor got it right on the spot, and he did a great job. One day, he'll be a top-notch reporter," said Joe Ageyo, a fellow journalist, in defense of Kinuthia.
However, not all viewers were sympathetic, with some calling out Kinuthia's performance on social media.
"I think everyone who watched that report will be surprised in a few years to see how far Victor has come," said Hussein Mohammed, a journalist who defended Kinuthia.
