On September 9, 2019, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro appeared at the Muranga Law Courts, where he narrated a harrowing experience involving General Service Unit officers.
According to Nyoro, a contingent of 150 GSU officers camped outside a local TV station on Monday night, where he had gone for an interview.
'You can't convince me that 150 GSU personnel can come to Kiharu to arrest just one person without orders from a higher level…,' said Nyoro.
His lawyers stated that his presence in court was out of an abundance of caution, a move to forestall some perceived risk.
Nyoro further told the court how he was bundled into a Subaru that was followed by an entourage of police Land Rovers vehicles.
He claimed that the car suddenly stopped and so did the entourage at Kenol, before the vehicles turned around and returned to Murang'a, where he was released.
'There are plans to harm me but I will not be intimidated… I am grateful that am here alive and talking… I am a law abiding citizen and if found as having broken the law and if found guilty of any crime, don't send GSU officers, just tell me I will take myself to court,' said Nyoro.
