Oroto, who previously served as Chief Manager, Public Sector at Centenary Bank since February 2023, brings over 20 years of banking experience spanning corporate, institutional, public sector, and small and medium-sized enterprises. His appointment follows a career at Centenary Bank, where he held roles including Manager, Corporate and Institutional Banking from 2014 to 2023, and earlier positions such as SME Banking Manager and Commercial Loans Officer.

Oroto emphasized the strategic importance of his new role, stating, "I am pleased to join Housing Finance Bank at an important stage of its growth. I look forward to bringing my experience deepening strategic partnerships, strengthening our value proposition, and delivering solutions that support the growth ambitions of our business and institutional clients." The bank highlighted his expertise in business development, strategic leadership, and customer relationship management as critical to advancing its Business and Institutional Banking segment. Oroto will focus on creating customer-centric solutions and fostering partnerships to aid business expansion, aligning with the bank’s broader goal of strengthening leadership and institutional capacity.

The appointment underscores Housing Finance Bank’s commitment to supporting Uganda’s economic development by catering to corporate and institutional needs. A bank statement noted that Oroto’s background would help build on the institution’s foundation to create greater value for clients. His transition from Centenary Bank, where he played a pivotal role in public sector banking, positions him to leverage cross-sectoral insights. The move comes amid growing demand for tailored financial services to sustain Uganda’s business ecosystem, particularly for SMEs and institutions seeking scalable solutions.

Housing Finance Bank’s leadership reiterated that Oroto’s expertise aligns with its mission to drive inclusive growth. His appointment follows a period of strategic restructuring aimed at enhancing service delivery for key economic stakeholders. As Oroto assumes his role, the bank anticipates stronger collaboration with businesses to address evolving market demands, reinforcing its position as a critical player in Uganda’s financial landscape.
