DAR ES SALAAM: The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has appointed Evans Mgeusa as its new Secretary General as part of a broader restructuring of the organization’s leadership and directorates, according to an announcement issued following an executive committee meeting. The decision, made during a session chaired by TFF President Wallace Karia, was confirmed through the federation’s official social media channels, including Instagram. Mgeusa succeeds Oscar Mirambo, who had served in an acting capacity, and previously led the Njombe Regional Football Association (NJOREFA).
The reorganization includes key personnel changes, with Mirambo transitioning to Deputy Secretary General and Director of Football Development. Mustapha Yusuph was named Director of Finance, while the TFF split the Directorate of Legal, Information and Marketing Affairs into three distinct units. Hassan Njama assumed the role of Director of Business and Marketing, Boniface Wambura became head of Legal Affairs, and Clifford Ndimbo took charge of Information and Communications. The federation stated the adjustments aimed to enhance operational efficiency and clarify administrative responsibilities.
TFF’s official statement emphasized that the leadership changes followed a formal decision by the Executive Committee, underscoring the organization’s commitment to structural reforms. The appointments mark a shift in the federation’s governance model, with Mgeusa now overseeing day-to-day operations. The move comes amid ongoing efforts to stabilize the country’s football governance, which has faced scrutiny over past management challenges.
