PZ Cussons, a global consumer goods company, named Growell Uganda Limited as its new distributor for the Imperial Leather and Venus Haircare brands during a launch dinner at Hotel Africana on Saturday. The event, attended by media, trade partners, salonists, and retailers, signaled the immediate transition of distribution responsibilities to Growell, which will ensure product availability across Uganda, from major supermarkets in Kampala to small retail outlets and salons. The partnership also extends to PZ Cussons' other brands, including Morning Fresh and Roberts, under Growell's nationwide distribution network.
As part of the collaboration, PZ Cussons launched its
campaign for Imperial Leather, introducing new products such as body mists and exfoliating soaps, while Venus Haircare added the Finishing Mousse and Braid Spray to its existing ranges. Cynthia Abuti, PZ Cussons' Brand Manager (Haircare), emphasized the importance of reliable distribution, stating,
A brand is only as strong as the hands that carry it. With Growell Uganda Limited as our distributor, we have a partner whose promise is right there in their name: great distribution. 1,
Lorna Mwangi, General Manager of Growell Uganda Limited, echoed this sentiment, asserting,
Great brands deserve great distribution, and that is exactly what Growell is built to deliver—reliable supply, nationwide reach, and a genuine commitment to seeing these brands succeed. 1,
The agreement includes trade incentives for retailers and a branded roadshow truck set to bring product activations, offers, and giveaways to markets across the country in the coming days.
The appointment underscores Growell Uganda Limited's growing influence in the Ugandan retail sector, positioning it as a key player in expanding access to PZ Cussons' premium brands. Industry observers note the move could enhance consumer availability and strengthen brand presence in both urban and rural markets. PZ Cussons and Growell Uganda Limited have not disclosed financial terms of the partnership, but the collaboration is expected to deepen market penetration for the brands in the region.
